Following three strong wins to open the season, Cliftonville Women’s 2s travelled to Blackheath for a late afternoon fixture, looking to continue their unbeaten run.
Cliftonville got the game underway with the pushback and wasted no time making an impact. Within the first minute, slick passing through midfield saw the ball worked neatly into the D, where Chloe was perfectly placed to score from a deflection, giving Cliftonville an early 1–0 lead.
The visitors continued to press, earning several short corners through sustained attacking play. From one of these, Julie capitalised on a rebound at the post, calmly slotting home Cliftonville’s second goal.
Blackheath managed to pull one back after being awarded a penalty flick, which was neatly converted to make it 2–1.
Despite the setback, Cliftonville remained composed and continued to dominate much of the play. The midfield and defence worked tirelessly to intercept counterattacks and turn possession back into attack. Their efforts paid off when excellent team movement created another opportunity for Chloe, who netted her second of the match to restore a comfortable two-goal cushion.
The final whistle confirmed another strong performance and a 3–1 win for Cliftonville Ladies 2s – their fourth victory in a row.
