A great collective effort this week from the ladies of Cliftonville. The strength at the back of the pitch was phenomenal, thwarting any attempt from the oppo. Midfield held strong and used quick, short, sharp passes to progress up the pitch. At half time, the score of 0-0 was one we were comfortable with but wishing to improve upon.
The second half commenced with some great runs up the field but no luck in the attacking D. After a long and tiring half, we were waiting for that final whistle. Despite some fantastic saves from Emmelia, Gravesend managed to hit the backboard with 2 minutes to go. For the final minute, the girls in with fought hard but with no time left, the final whistle blew. 1-0 to Gravesend.
