Cliftonville Men’s 1s welcomed Maidstone 2s for their second home game of the season — and came out flying.
Ville set the tempo early, creating plenty of chances and putting the Maidstone keeper and defence under pressure from the get-go. Isaac broke the deadlock with a tidy finish after Charlie laid the ball off around the keeper. Not long after, Isaac was on the scoresheet again, this time converting from a short corner to wrap up Ville’s first-half goals.
Despite dominating the opening half, Ville knew they couldn’t ease off — one goal for Maidstone could swing the momentum. So they kept pushing. Harry grabbed his second goal in as many weeks with a well-placed strike into the bottom corner, and Dan Vinson stole the show with the team’s first hat trick of the season.
A confident, well-rounded performance from Cliftonville — the only complaint being they didn’t score more. Eyes now turn to next week, with hopes of keeping another clean sheet.
